I’m not religious (and if I was, as a white americana I’d probably be Christian) — but thank you for your brave articulation of human resistances, hope, eons of faith and persistence. Whether in the form of god or not, love will prevail. I was about to fall into a doomscroll but then this email came and it voiced exactly what I’m feeling and hoping these days. Thank you

I loved the travel pictures but I'm trying to quell my yearning - from 2002 - to 2019 I travelled where I wished, with 2019 being the "last big trip". Maybe. I want to spend my dollars now on backyard and international activism, travelling vicariously through this world of words

But I yearn for the Arctic circle and satisfy my craving for nature with photos on instagram by a young Finn @kpunkka.

He's currently documenting some domestic foxes..

(Finland is the only country I have checked their immigration laws..) alas, they too are moving to the right.

Yes. Yep. Yes. Selah. Amen.

The practice of faith - the act of stilling oneself and sitting. As I read your new arab article I find myself singing: "oh G-d will you restore us" a lamentation Psalm.

Lamenting is a healthy thing.

It's better to actively lament than sink into the despair because it's so easy to get flummoxed. Just flummoxed.

I am both delighted that you're getting writing gigs, & despairing at the situation in Sudan and, and, and..I'm reading American friends & wondering if there'll be a refugee program from there soon. Joke not joke.

I will take the time to read the article on musicians as I'm coming out of a period of "flummox" & starting my morning with a 5 minute breath meditation/prayer from the Centre for Action & Contemplation. Thank you young Auntie 😉 for keeping us connected. 💖🙏
