I’ve been hitting those streets for the past six weeks writing and talking and having the best time touring my debut literary novel, AT SEA. One of the pleasures of being on book tour is meeting so many of you in person (and online!) but I know not everyone can make it for scheduled events. So, it’s my absolute pleasure to be sharing with you this exclusive GOOD CHAT conversation with the utterly brilliant novelist, Ayisha Malik!
Ayisha and I met almost exactly ten years ago at the Dalkey Book Festival, and we hit it right off. We were both on a panel talking about Muslim women and feminism (alongside Elif Shaffak and Mehreen Khan), and I instantly fell in love with Ayisha’s wit, tinder dry sense of humour and love of books. I couldn’t imagine a better person to have a conversation with about my first literary novel, and I thoroughly hope you enjoy ! An audio-only version is also available on the podcast feed (let me know if you can’t access it?)

Remember, AT SEA is available pretty much everywhere now (there’s even a Norwegian version on sale?) and I will be updating the tour listing with my European dates very soon inshallah!
The Substack will gently be coming back online as touring slows down… thank you all for your patience and hope you’re excited for me back in your inboxes!
Big love (and don’t forget to post an online review if you’ve read the novel!),
Yassmin
